What Does It Cost?

When a girl first submits her application, there is a minimal initiation fee of $40.00. This is a one time fee.

Table DecorationThe annual dues for membership in Nevada varies between assemblies; ranging from $35.00 to $40.00 per year. These dues include a statewide supplementary insurance policy on any member while you are at a Rainbow function. It also protects parents when they are chaperoning an activity or while they are driving for a Rainbow function. The annual dues must be paid by the first meeting in January, although they may be paid before that date. Girls must have their dues paid before they can vote or hold an office.

If a girl has not paid her dues by June 1, she is considered delinquent. She will be notified by mail the first of July, and again in September. If her dues are not paid after the second notice, she is suspended from membership. If after suspension, her dues are brought up to date before the end of the year, she may be reinstated to membership without a vote of the Assembly. After this time, it will take a vote of the membership to reinstate her. If, for some reason a girl does not want to continue her membership in our order, we advise her to take a demit. With a demit, she may visit Rainbow for 6 months, and at some time, be able to obtain your Majority certificate. A demit may also be used if a girl moves to another jurisdiction and would like to transfer her membership. This is possible worldwide as Rainbow is an international organization.

Financing Rainbow

Because the Assembly is self-supporting and dues are nominal, it is necessary to hold money-raising projects during each term. Each “line” officer will have a moneymaking project during her term as Charity. The Advisory Board must approve any money-making project.

A goal is set and all members are asked to participate and help. We hope you, your family, and friends will support these worthwhile projects. If you have any good fund-raising ideas, please let the Mother Advisor know.

Some successful projects are:

Car Washes
Box Socials
Christmas Gift Wrap Booths
Rummage or Garage Sales
Candy/Lollipop Sales
Craft Boutiques
Food or Craft Fair Booths
Pancake Breakfasts
Slave For A Day (house or yard work, etc.)
Luncheon/Dessert Fashion Shows
Fashion shows
Bunco parties
